<image:title>Events - WWRC January Meeting: Growing Connections @ Cheeky Harvest - About Our Host: Co-Founder of Cheeky Harvest, Katie Fuller</image:title>
<image:caption>Katie Fuller is a Women Who Really Cook member and co-founder of Cheeky Harvest, the Twin Cities’ largest indoor edible flower, microgreen, and specialty herb farm. Along with her co-founder, Katie began exploring urban farming in 2018, starting with a small prototype hydroponics system and quickly discovering the potential to grow a wide variety of flavorful crops in a very compact space. With a background in science, Katie saw indoor, technology-driven farming as a sustainable way to grow food closer to the people who eat it. She spent several years learning the ins and outs of controlled-environment agriculture, and in 2020, Cheeky Harvest secured a USDA microloan to expand operations into a dedicated space in South Minneapolis. With the support of family and friends, the business officially launched in 2021.</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - WWRC November Meeting: Cookbooks & Craft Beer with Stephanie Hansen - About Our Host: Author and Broadcaster, Stephanie Hansen</image:title>
<image:caption>Stephanie Hansen grew up in the Twin Cities, where one of her first forays into the food world was a job wearing a poodle skirt, dancing on bar tops, and slinging drinks at the Heartthrob Café in downtown St. Paul. While it was fun, the hours were crappy, and she got tired of smelling like a bar. Stephanie worked for the next fifteen years in print, radio, and direct mail advertising sales and marketing. In 2005, she took those skills and started her own online printing and marketing company, Printz.com. Fast forward eight years, and she won the Women Business Owner of the Year Award. Fast forward another three years, and she sold the thriving business for a “large pile of cash” and thought she would retire at 42. Turns out “the pile of cash wasn’t that large, and retirement was boring,” so she leaned into her love of food and her burgeoning food life as a broadcaster. Stephanie is co-host of The Weekly Dish radio show and podcast on Hubbard Broadcasting’s MyTalk 107.1, alongside Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine’s food editor, Stephanie March. The show is going on its 18th year and is also available as a podcast. In 2023, Stephanie won a regional Emmy award for hosting the TV show Taste Buds With Stephanie, which airs Saturday mornings on Fox 9 and is syndicated to 87 stations across the United States. Season 3 begins this Fall 2025. She also shares recipes weekly on The Jason Show on KMSP Fox 9 in the Twin Cities.</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - WWRC April Meeting: Supenn & Cyndy Harrison @ Abrazar Events - Supenn Harrison - Trailblazer of Thai Cuisine in Minnesota</image:title>
<image:caption>Supenn Harrison is a pioneer of Thai cuisine in Minnesota, introducing authentic Thai flavors to the state at a time when they were virtually unknown in the Midwest. Originally from Thailand, she moved to Minnesota in 1972 for graduate school. After struggling to find work, she took a janitorial job at Abbott Northwestern Hospital—an experience that fueled her determination to build something of her own. Her entrepreneurial journey began in 1976, selling her now-famous Sue’s Egg Rolls at the Minnesota State Fair. In 1979, she purchased the Gopher Grill on Lake Street, transforming it into Siam Café—the first Thai restaurant in Minnesota. This bold move laid the foundation for Sawatdee Thai Restaurants, a beloved institution known for setting the standard in Thai cuisine. Since opening the first official Sawatdee in 1983, Supenn has expanded her restaurants and catering operations while staying true to her values of quality, service, and authenticity. With over 40 years in the restaurant industry, Supenn’s legacy lives on through her daughters, Cyndy and Jenny, who now lead Sawatdee. Her story is one of resilience, innovation, and passion, making her a true icon in Minnesota’s dining scene.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Growing up in the restaurant business, Cyndy Harrison was immersed in the world of Thai cuisine from an early age as the daughter of Sawatdee Thai Restaurant founder, Supenn Harrison. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business from the University of St. Thomas and later completed her MBA at Augsburg University, equipping her with the skills to lead and grow the family business. In 2010, she took over as CEO of Sawatdee Thai Restaurants, overseeing locations in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Maple Grove. Under her leadership, the restaurants have continued to thrive, maintaining their reputation for authentic Thai flavors, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. She also manages Sawatdee Catering, handling logistics for weddings, corporate events, and private gatherings, ensuring that each experience is seamless and memorable. Beyond Sawatdee, Cyndy’s passion for hospitality led her to launch Abrazar, a beautifully designed event space dedicated to bringing people together. As CEO and Catering Director, she blends her expertise in food, service, and event planning to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for celebrations of all kinds. Whether managing restaurant operations, catering large-scale events, or hosting gatherings at Abrazar, Cyndy continues to build on her family’s legacy of connecting people through food and shared experiences.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Souping for friends and neighbors started innocently enough - just a friendly neighborly thing to do. The goodness flowed, the word spread, and Oh soup! ventured beyond the hood. Bridget aims to “nourish the world, one soothing bowl of soup at a time,” through her Minneapolis small business Oh Soup! and as a traveling chef for First Descents. Through Oh Soup! Bridget offers weekly vegetarian soup and bread menus prepared with fresh ingredients with custom topping accompaniments. <image:title>Events - WWRC October Meeting: Zoë François @ Sue Zelickson’s Lake Minnetonka Home - Zoë François first discovered her passion for baking through cookies, with early memories of visiting Jewish bakeries in Brooklyn. These moments have stayed with her, influencing her journey in the world of pastry.</image:title>
<image:caption>Zoë studied art at the University of Vermont, where she founded a cookie company as a creative way to earn extra income. Her passion for baking led her to the Culinary Institute of America in New York, where she honed her pastry skills. She went on to work as a pastry chef in several Twin Cities restaurants and co-author the bestselling Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day book series. Her award-winning book, Zoë Bakes Cakes, her hit TV series Zoë Bakes on the Magnolia Network, and her Emmy nomination alongside Andrew Zimmern for their special Holiday Party with Andrew and Zoë, have all made her a household name in the world of pastry. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Graham, and their poodle, with her two grown sons coming home often for - of course - cookies. Website: ZoëBakes Instagram: @zoebakes</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - WWRC July Meeting: Beth Fisher and Shelagh Mullen @ Farm at the Arb - Chef Beth Fisher has a career marked by a rich tapestry of culinary expertise and teaching experience. Having cooked in esteemed Twin Cities restaurants like Lucia’s, Wise Acre Eatery, and Kruse Markit, Beth has brought a wealth of experience to her role as Culinary Program Lead at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s Farm at the Arb.</image:title>
<image:caption>When Beth started her role at the Arb last year, she was no stranger to a kitchen classroom. As the previous Culinary Programmer and Instructor at the Myer’s Education Center, she crafted whimsical and dynamic culinary classes that reflected her teaching philosophy: fun and high energy. Her approach makes learning a joy, and her enthusiasm for culinary instruction shines through in every class she teaches. Her dedication to culinary education is evident in her ability to connect both amateur and professional chefs with the ingredients and the joy of cooking. Now moving into a new role as the Arb Culinary Lead, Beth will take on the revamping of the Arboretum's restaurant, RootStock, set to open at the end of July!</image:caption>

With a rich background in culinary instruction, event planning, and recipe development, Shelagh is well-prepared for this new chapter. She curates recipes for her website, shecooksdesign.com, and holds a degree in graphic design, which she utilizes in collaboration with local producers and makers on food packaging projects. <image:caption>Shelagh is particularly passionate about Irish food and culture, having traveled to Ireland numerous times and completed a culinary course at The Dublin Cookery School in 2020. Her mission is to dispel myths about Irish cuisine and showcase the vibrant Renaissance in Irish food and cooking. In pursuit of this goal, Shelagh co-founded GráBia with her friend Anne from Galway. GráBia is an annual food tour of Ireland that offers participants a deep dive into the country’s culinary landscape, including cheese making, dairy farm visits, sea foraging, whiskey tours, and so much more. Shelagh is excited to share her love for Irish food and culture with others through these immersive experiences.</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - WWRC February Meeting: Anita Nelson @ IN Food Marketing & Design - Back in 1995, the visionary Anita Nelson formed IN Food Marketing & Design (formerly Vavricka Juntti & Company). After earning a degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, surviving several “character building” jobs in the foodservice industry, as well as a few advertising positions where she learned the ropes, Anita stepped out to change food marketing for the better. Nearly 25 years later, her extensive knowledge of the food industry and ability to “connect the dots” helps her find the right solutions for her clients.</image:title>
<image:caption>A true foodie, Anita’s first job was baking muffins from scratch at a family restaurant. On a typical Saturday she would churn out 600 blueberry muffins! Anita also worked front-of-house throughout college as a server in several restaurants and a country club - she’s been involved IN food since the very beginning!</image:caption>

<image:caption>She now manages a team of creatives in a beautiful North Loop Studio. Working with top food companies such as General Mills, Ruiz Foodservice, BakeMark, Burnett Dairy Cooperative and Pizzey Ingredients, they certainly have the chops IN full-service food marketing! IN Food was recognized in 2019 and 2020 in the Mpls/St. Paul Business Journal’s “Fast 50” list, and hailed as one of the “Best Places to Work” in 2023. Beyond business, Anita's team is on a mission, dedicating 5% of their profits to support hunger-related causes in our community, and working with many mission-based organizations like Appetite for Change, Cookie Cart and Meals on Wheels.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Marta spent 10 years gaining experience through a variety of consumer goods companies before leaving the corporate world to take on a new adventure. Her background is in sales and operations analytics, which has helped her in this new challenge, despite only having a borderline obsession with coffee and no barista experience. Through determination and desire to run a business that she believes in, she took over a Dunn Brothers franchise in 2022, where she has learned about the origin of coffee, how its produced, how to make the perfect cup of coffee and teach others to do the same in a fast-paced but rewarding environment.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Born and raised in Minnesota, Jamie Albee grew up with a passion for baking and realized during her high school years that it could be a real career path. She attended Le Cordon Bleu, as part of the final class of students, where she was introduced to WWRC and received a scholarship! Her specialty is in laminated pastries but she has a versatile baking background. She is currently taking business classes at the University of Minnesota with the goal of opening her own bakery someday. In the meantime, she is perfecting her barista skills with Marta at Dunn Brothers, while practicing her pastry and candy-making on the side!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Born and raised in the Twin Cities, Cecka (Check-a) Parks has spent the last two decades living and working in the food scene in Minneapolis. Through her work as a head-butcher at a local coop, Cecka developed a passion for local and humanely-raised meat. She built relationships with local farmers and meat producers and came to understand the need for honest, transparent conversations about meat. In the summer of 2022, Cecka started the Minneapolis Meat Collective and continues to build and grow the business. MMC offers a range of whole animal breakdown classes meant to meet people where they are. Regardless of whether you're a skilled butcher looking to hone your trade or someone who has never picked up a knife, you will find a great class to match your skills and knowledge. You can find her on IG @meat_musings or www.mplsmeatcollective.com.</image:caption>

<image:caption>With almost 15 years of culinary excellence, Lachelle Cunningham's journey began with the launch of Chelles’ Kitchen in 2012. She quickly gained recognition as the founding Executive Chef of Breaking Bread Cafe (2015) in North Minneapolis, earning accolades for her innovative cuisine and impactful social justice initiatives. Her culinary ventures have sparked change, inspiring a future where food education and empowerment take center stage. In 2018, Chef Lachelle launched Healthy Roots Institute (HRI) for food education, culinary training, and food business support. At The Good Acre (TGA), she led transformative farm-to-school training sessions, and created VoCul—a unique culinary program in 2020. VoCul equips aspiring chefs with skills for scratch cooking, bridging gaps and offering informative and hands-on experience. In early 2023, Chef Lachelle's influence expanded further with the acquisition of City Food Studio—a shared-use commercial kitchen located in the heart of George Floyd Square. This endeavor provides Twin Cities culinary entrepreneurs with a certified food-safe facility to craft and sell their creations, solidifying Lachelle's commitment to empowering local talent. Lachelle's dedication fosters community investment, sustainability, and empowerment. Explore her story of culinary excellence and social impact at www.lachellecunningham.com.</image:caption>

<image:title>Events - WWRC June Meeting: Joann Lynch of Del Sur Empanadas - Nico (Buenos Aires) and Diego (Cordoba), met through a mutual friend at a Minneapolis dinner party (2009). A friendship began and their shared passion for Argentine culture and food - later became DelSur Empanadas! In 2014 they started working out of a Minneapolis rental kitchen, selling empanadas online through Facebook and their website with pop-ups at Twin Cities breweries (2015). In 2016 their food truck rolled onto the Twin Cities streets. At that time, it was mostly attending food truck festivals, tap rooms, and downtown lunch gatherings, but has grown to include weddings, corporate events, national night out and whatever works with distance and time.</image:title>
<image:caption>2018 brought the first brick and mortar location in Minnetonka. This location hosts gatherings within their events space such as birthday celebrations, fine dining events, and even tango! In 2020, they opened a kitchen within the Market at Malcolm Yards Food Hall and last year they partnered with Kowalski’s to offer 4 of their empanada varieties (beef, sweet corn, chorizo, and spinach) within the deli.</image:caption>

Working with Appetite for Change helped to deepen Eva’s love for gardening as she became known in her community as Farmer Garrett, providing produce through CSA’s from her own backyard. In becoming an avid gardener, she also grew a deep connection with herbs and in 2020 obtained her Master Herbalist certification and launched her herbal business, Natural Me where she creates healing products that cleanse, nurture and treat ailments. Now she has joined forces with Chef Lachelle Cunningham to create Natural Roots Wellness and the Elixir Kitchen, where they invite the community to explore the world of plant remedies and nutritional healing with them.</image:caption>

<image:caption>After growing up in Chicago’s restaurant industry, Owner Tami Cabrera acquired a taste for a dessert synonymous with Chicago—cheesecake. After moving here in 1993, she found it impossible to find such cheesecake so started her own business. Today, their St. Louis Park, MN based facility produces hundreds of Chicago style cheesecakes weekly, in over 200 flavors! They have appeared on Kare 11, WCCO, CBS, The Jason Show, The Emmy Awards and on Food Network’s Roker on the Road in addition to receiving several local awards including Best in Minnesota. She was invited to The White House, for her social media skills, in 2011 and was a Woman of Influence 2012. All of her cheesecakes are made from scratch in small batches daily.</image:caption>
