About Our Host: Co-Founder of Cheeky Harvest, Katie Fuller
Katie Fuller is a Women Who Really Cook member and co-founder of Cheeky Harvest, the Twin Cities’ largest indoor edible flower, microgreen, and specialty herb farm. Along with her co-founder, Katie began exploring urban farming in 2018, starting with a small prototype hydroponics system and quickly discovering the potential to grow a wide variety of flavorful crops in a very compact space.
With a background in science, Katie saw indoor, technology-driven farming as a sustainable way to grow food closer to the people who eat it. She spent several years learning the ins and outs of controlled-environment agriculture, and in 2020, Cheeky Harvest secured a USDA microloan to expand operations into a dedicated space in South Minneapolis. With the support of family and friends, the business officially launched in 2021.
Cheeky Harvest has continued to grow rapidly, outgrowing its original location and moving in 2024 to a 3,400-square-foot indoor farm in St. Paul, supported by a second USDA microloan. Today, Katie is deeply involved in refining Cheeky Harvest’s growing, harvesting, and packaging practices to ensure each variety of microgreen and edible flower is grown from seed and hand-harvested within 24 hours of delivery, maximizing both flavor and shelf life. Through this work, she remains committed to providing consistently beautiful, high-quality crops to the Twin Cities food community year-round.
