At Coffeewomple Roastery, owner and founder Nicole Bolea combines a love for coffee, sustainability, and adventure. Inspired by the word Coddiwomple—which means to travel purposefully toward an unknown destination—Coffeewomple invites you to explore the world of coffee with curiosity and intention.
Founded in 2022 by Nicole and her partner, Zach Whitney, Coffeewomple has quickly become a leader in environmentally conscious coffee roasting. With degrees in chemical and environmental engineering, a professional engineering license, and an MBA, Nicole brings a science-driven approach to every aspect of the business—from sourcing beans directly from sustainable farms to roasting on an all-electric, low-emission Giesen roaster.
Coffeewomple’s Northeast Minneapolis roastery was once home to the historic Rye Krisp factory—an ideal space with the power infrastructure needed for their sustainable roasting operations. The company’s commitment to reducing environmental impact extends beyond roasting, with reusable and compostable packaging, zero-waste production practices, and mindful sourcing to minimize transportation emissions.
