WWRC May Meeting: Stefanie Zoss & Heather Baumbach @ Shakopee High School

Join us for a special after-school event celebrating Stefanie Zoss and Heather Baumbach, ProStart instructors at Shakopee High School, to hear about the inspiring work they do to shape the future of Minnesota’s culinary industry!

Attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at their state-of-the-art culinary facility, and enjoy an entrée and dessert prepared by their ProStart student team!



Stefanie Zoss - Family & Consumer Science Teacher, ProStart Instructor @ Shakopee High School

Stefanie Zoss is a Family & Consumer Science teacher with over 20 years of experience in education. She started her career as an elementary school teacher in Chicago before returning to Minnesota, where she continued teaching elementary school in various Twin Cities school districts. Stefanie later earned a Master’s degree in Family and Consumer Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato, which led her to teaching culinary arts at Hopkins High School for three years.

For the past three years, Stefanie has been teaching at Shakopee High School as a ProStart instructor, where she guides students in culinary arts and hospitality. She has extensive experience in hands-on teaching and has helped her students succeed in both state and national culinary competitions.

In addition to her career, Stefanie has been married for almost 20 years and has two children.


Heather Baumbach-

Culinary Arts Instructor, ProStart Instructor @ Shakopee High School

Heather Baumbach is a Culinary Arts instructor at Shakopee High School, where she teaches three levels of culinary classes and prepares students for careers in the culinary field. She partners with local businesses like Valleyfair, Mystic Lake Casino, Shakopee Bowl, QDoba, O'Brien’s, Cub Foods, and Hy-Vee, giving students real-world learning experiences with industry professionals.

Heather holds a Master of Education in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota and a certification in ServSafe Food Protection Manager. She is also a ServSafe Certified Instructor & Registered Proctor. Using the ProStart curriculum from the National Restaurant Association, Heather provides students with a solid foundation in food safety and culinary skills.

In 2020, she was honored as the MAFCS Teacher of the Year for her contributions to the Shakopee Family and Consumer Science Department. Heather is also the 2024 ProStart Teacher of the Year and is a candidate for the National Teacher of the Year award through the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
