WWRC March Meeting: The Good Acre

  • The Good Acre 1790 Larpenteur Ave W Falcon Heights, MN 55113 (map)

Join us at The Good Acre food hub in Falcon Heights to learn about all this amazing nonprofit does to support the local food ecosystem! We’ll have the opportunity to meet and sample products from 3 local food businesses that produce there: 3 Bear Oats, Well Rooted Teas and Lost Capital Foods!

The Good Acre is a nonprofit food hub in Falcon Heights whose mission is to connect and strengthen farmers, food makers, and communities through good food. The organization does this by providing one-on-one grower support services to small, local produce farmers, creating wholesale markets that pay an equitable price to farmers, and supporting small food businesses through their shared-use commercial kitchen rental and CPG-focused business workshops. The Good Acre also is home to VoCul, a vocational culinary training program with a farm-to-school focus that is aimed at building up a workforce of skilled culinary professionals.

At this meeting, we'll learn all about The Good Acre's programing: their work with local, small produce farmers, small food businesses, and how they teach culinary skills in the Farm to School context. You will also get to meet a few TGA staff and three CPG businesses that operate out of The Good Acre's shared commercial kitchen.
