We will hear from Owner/Franchisee, Marta Swenson, about her journey to becoming a business owner, as well as barista, pastry chef, candy maker and business student, Jamie Albee!
Enjoy warm beverages and decadent sweets while we hear about their unique journeys in the food industry!
Marta spent 10 years gaining experience through a variety of consumer goods companies before leaving the corporate world to take on a new adventure. Her background is in sales and operations analytics, which has helped her in this new challenge, despite only having a borderline obsession with coffee and no barista experience.
Through determination and desire to run a business that she believes in, she took over a Dunn Brothers franchise in 2022, where she has learned about the origin of coffee, how its produced, how to make the perfect cup of coffee and teach others to do the same in a fast-paced but rewarding environment.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Jamie Albee grew up with a passion for baking and realized during her high school years that it could be a real career path. She attended Le Cordon Bleu, as part of the final class of students, where she was introduced to WWRC and received a scholarship!
Her specialty is in laminated pastries but she has a versatile baking background. She is currently taking business classes at the University of Minnesota with the goal of opening her own bakery someday. In the meantime, she is perfecting her barista skills with Marta at Dunn Brothers, while practicing her pastry and candy-making on the side!
